From Chicago - "my mother is interested in the Intel Reader but would like to see the product ...to see if it would work for her. She has macula degeneration and is considered legally blind."
Where can my kids get this machine in South Carolina and how much is it? I am a tutor.
Permalink Reply by Wendy Kenney on November 28, 2011 at 8:00pm I was able to rent one from the University of Washington. It was reasonable to rent ($30 for 3 weeks) and my son was able to really get to know the intel reader and whether or not it will work for him. It is nice to try a product first before buying.
The site is called: Washington Assistive Technology Program at http://watap.org/
I don't know if it is only for Washington state residences but we have rented several items and they have been polite and helpful.

Wendy,
Thank you!! I've added Washington Assistive Technology Program to our map of places where people can try the Intel Reader.
Thanks again!
